A Call for Bands – Music Matters Live is back – The Gateway to Asia
(2 December, 2013, Singapore) – Music Matters Live (www.musicmatterslive.com), Asia’s premier independent music festival, is returning from 22 to 24 May 2014 and applications for the live music festival are now open!
As the Asian music scene continues to heat up at an accelerated speed, Music Matters Live will continue to connect the industry and fans with a dynamic lineup of international and local bands. For three nights, over 60 bands from 20 countries will play over 160 shows in venues across Singapore.
Music Matters Live is the music festival component of the award-winning Music Matters conference. Dubbed “TED meets SXSW” by Jason Mraz, Music Matters, incorporating Digital Matters and Social Media Matters, will take place from 20 to 25 May 2014 at the Ritz Carlton Millenia Singapore. In just eight years, Music Matters has succeeded in becoming a global platform representing the Asia Pacific music industry and a gateway for artists looking to break into the world’s most populated region.

Music Matters Live had previously hosted sensational acts like Simple Plan (Canada), Jezabels (Australia), Boyce Avenue (USA), Katie Noonan (Australia), Gurrumul (Australia), Prata Vetra (Latvia), Kate Miller-Heidke (Australia), Little Boots (UK), Electrico (Singapore), flumpool (Japan), Kreva (Japan), Drunken Tiger (Korea), Indus Creed (India), Nidji (Indonesia),FaberDrive(Canada)andmanyothers. ArtistsandmusiciansfromJapan,Korea, Singapore, Australia, Canada, Taiwan, Indonesia, India, Myanmar, Philippines, Latvia, Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, UK and USA and more had performed at Music Matters Live over the years.
Artists and bands performing on the Fountain Stage at Clarke Quay in 2014 will also see their performance webcast live on YouTube for additional exposure to the global music audience.
Budding artists and musicians for 2014 can also look forward to participating in Music Matters Academy with mentoring sessions and workshops led by global entertainment leaders who will share valuable tips and advice on how to grow a loyal fan base and how to succeed and sustain fans’ interest in a digital world.
